Bobbi Hazeltine enters her eighth year as Head Coach of the WWCC Warrior Women. During her seventh year, Hazeltine watched her team go all the way to the NWAACC Championship game before falling to Lane.  Her Warriors finished 22-9 and placed in the NWAACC tournament for the sixth year in a row.  Hazeltine’s best finish was in 2001, when her team won the NWAACC Championship.  In 2005, her team set the school record for most wins in a season with 25.

Coach Hazeltine comes to WWCC from the state of Idaho, where she was born and raised. She received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from the University of Idaho. She served as the Head Volleyball and Girls’ Basketball Coach at Troy High School for 13 years, winning 246 volleyball matches and 253 basketball games. She also won nine state championships in the two sports.

At WWCC, Hazeltine believes in a very disciplined program, centered around fundamentals. She stresses excellence in the classroom, saying that, “Our players are students first, athletes second.” Almost every player in Hazeltine’s program has graduated with an AA Degree, and most have gone on to four-year colleges or universities.  Hazeltine has placed many of her players in solid four-year basketball programs.  Two of them, Kasey Hooter and Aundrea Morrison, have gone on to be named All-Americans at their respective schools (Albertson  College and Lewis-Clark State).

Coach Hazeltine and her husband Rory have two children. Allison is a junior Business Major at the University of Idaho, and Nick is a junior at DeSales High School.

This will be Mark’s fourth year with the Warrior Basketball Program.  Over the last three years, the team has accomplished many of their goals.  He is looking forward to another successful season working with Coach Hazeltine.

Mark has been involved with coaching throughout the Walla Walla area for the last 15 years.  Most recently, he spent eight years coaching at DeSales High School in the Lady Irish Basketball Program.

Mark has both his B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Idaho.  He is currently Chief Hydrology and Hydraulics Branch with Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers.  He moved into the Walla Walla Valley in 1976, and his wife Kathy works at Walla Walla Community College in Transfer Planning.  They have two children.  Brian is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree while coaching football at Northern Arizona University.  Jenny works in Human Resources at the Corps of Engineers.

Year: 1st Year

 

Kasey begins her first year as Assistant Coach for the Warriors.  She played for Coach Hazeltine from 2001-2003 and is in the record books in many categories.  Kasey is second all-time in single season field goal percentage at .548.  Her career percentage of .531 ranks as the third best shooter all-time for WWCC.  She is also in the record books for most rebounds in a game (17 – twice), career rebounds and career points. 

Kasey earned an AA Degree at WWCC and then transferred to Albertson College in Caldwell.  At ACI, she was named 1st Team All-Conference and 3rd Team All-American.  She holds the school record for Most Rebounds in a game (24 – twice) and in a season, and she holds the record for Career Rebound Average and Career Field Goal Average.  In 2005, Kasey graduated from Albertson College with a degree in Psychology. 

Last year, Kasey was the Sophomore Coach at Nampa High School, her alma mater.  Currently, she is employed at Walla Walla Community College as an AmeriCorp Team Member for Retention Projects.
