Coach Staudenmaier begins his tenth season at the helm of the Lady Warriors with a career record of 237W-165L.  After five successful seasons as a head assistant coach in the Warriors Baseball program, Coach Staudenmaier continues WWCC's winning ways on the softball diamond.

In his five years as head assistant coach, Staudenmaier served as the pitching coach for four Eastern Region championship teams. The 1994 Warriors were NWAACC runner up.

Prior to returning to Walla Walla, Mike was part of four straight NAIA District One winners as a coach and player at Whitworth. He registered saves in each Pirate victories during a best-of-three District One playoff series in 1989 and 1990.

In the mid and late 80's, Mike starred at Walla Walla High School in football and baseball. He was also selected to the NWAACC Eastern Region first team as a pitcher for Walla Walla Community College, where he earned an A.A. degree in 1988.

Staudenmaier's coaching experience includes two years as WWCC's assistant women's basketball coach as well. Both the 1994-95 and 1995-96 Lady Warriors qualified for the NWAACC Eastern Region playoffs. Away from the field, Mike's lengthy resume includes his current tenure as head trainer for Warrior athletics, supervisor of WWCC's athletic facilities, head equipment manager, and instructor of sports medicine classes. Despite the hectic schedule, Mike is setting time aside to pursue a master's degree in athletic administration.

A positive role model, teacher, and coach, Staudenmaier expects his team to contend for the NWAACC Eastern Division and NWAACC titles. In his first two years with the softball program he tallied two 20 plus win seasons and a 39-8 mark in his third. In 2001, the team went 25-21 and placed fourth at the NWAACC Championship Tournament. The 2002 team went 36-11 overall, and won the Eastern Region Softball title, with a 25-5 league record, for the first time in school history. In 2006, the Warriors made it back to the NWAACC Tournament with a 3rd place finish in the touggh NWAACC Eastern Region. In his nine years at the helm, he has had ten NFCA/NWAACC All-Americans, one North Eastern Region MVP, two Eastern Region MVP's, and one Eastern Region Pitching MVP. He has also had twentyfive 1st Team All NWAACC players, seventeen 2nd Team All NWAACC players, and 32 sophomore All-Stars. Five of his players have made the All NWAACC Tournament team, and twelve players have been awarded the NFCA All American Academic award. Mike was awarded the prestigious Speedline National Coach of the Year award in 2000. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association presented the award in San Antonio, Texas at their National Convention. Coach Staudenmaier has totaled an amazing 237 victories in nine seasons at the helm of the Warriors. With all of these accomplishments, he is most proud of how his players have maintained a team GPA over a 3.0 each quarter for the nine years he has coached.
